Africa Today Associates, Inc. (ATA) is a 501 (c) (c) non-profit organization. ATA is committed to educating the public about various challenges and successes experienced by the people of Africa. In addition, ATA undertake and implement various programs and projects to meet some of the needs of people in various parts of Africa. ATA believes that to effectively meet and address Africa's challenges requires energies of people from different backgrounds. Through research, ATA brings together academics and activists that are either working in Africa or on Africa-related programs. Our partners, therefore, are essential in all that we do. ATA is currently undertaking several programs and projects centered around needs in the Sudan. Our Sudan Health Project aims to address health needs of the people of Maar and Paliau, two villages in South Sudan. Also, to help address the conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan, ATA is sponsoring a series of consultations that will address how to stop genocide in Darfur. The first consultation was held on February 17th, 2007, and it featured Ambassador Jendayi Frazer, Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, US Department of State. The next series of consultations will take place in Washington, D.C., Kenya, and Nigeria, respectively.
These are just a few of the various ways through which ATA is trying to make a difference in Africa. So take the time to explore our site, and find out how you can help and become a part of what ATA is doing. You can also contribute by making a donation. Your donations are tax deductible.
